As a kid growing up in Southern California, one of my neighbors owned the original, full-scale mockup of the Galileo. Or what was left of it. Badly dilapidated, it sat untended for years in a bed of ivy outside his suburban home. My friends and I eventually commandeered it as a clubhouse.
